Who we are

Risdon Contract Services Ltd, trading as Risdon Renovations, is the data controller for the information described here. We are registered in England & Wales, company number 08048345, with our registered office at Abbotts Hill Barn, Abbots Hill, Ospringe, Faversham, Kent, ME13 0RR.

What we collect, and why

The only personal information this website collects is what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your email address, your telephone number if you choose to give it, the type of project, and whatever you write in the message.

We use it for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and, if it goes further, to prepare a quotation. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with anyone for their own purposes.

Our lawful basis

Where you are asking us to quote, we process your details to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. Otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about building work.

Who else sees it

• Resend delivers the enquiry to our inbox as an email.
• Vercel hosts this website and processes the request that carries your message.
• Google provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
• Microsoft 365 hosts the mailbox the enquiry arrives in.

Each of these acts on our instructions only. We do not send your details anywhere else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are kept for two years, so we can pick up a conversation if you come back to us. Where we go on to carry out work, the records are kept for six years after the job finishes, in line with the time limit for contract claims and our accounting obligations.

Cookies

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this website: which pages are read, roughly where visitors are, and whether an enquiry was sent or a phone number tapped. Google sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* for this, kept for up to two years. We do not use them for advertising, and we cannot identify you from them. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google receives only anonymous signals, such as a page being viewed, that cannot be linked to you or to a later visit. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the foot of every page.

Your browser also stores two small flags locally: one so the opening animation only plays once, and one to remember your cookie choice. They stay on your device and never reach us. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies or identifying you.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it. Email enquiries@risdon.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
